makin' friends

I had no idea so many people used Friendster. I signed up months ago but only recently did I start screwing around with it. To my surprise, tons of my friends back in the U.S. use it, and even a few here in Japan. It seems like a pretty cool way to stay in touch with people, but I have to wonder how long they'll be able to keep it going as a free service? Seems like everyone and their mother is using it these days. And now I am too.

As if I needed yet another distraction...

Actually they are having a problem because the whole system only works as long as people are honest. Lots of people have been signing up as like "Jesus Chirst", "Satan", and various movie stars, politians, business people etc, and it's connecting people that aren't really connected.

D'oh, I don't have a salon.com account. I can only read the first couple of paragraphs. I get the point, though. Glad they're trying to fish out the fakes, at least!

Hi! Firstly, I'm really really sorry to be posting this here. I couldn't add an entry in your LJ. I really enjoyed reading your LJ about Japan because its one of the few countries I'd love to visit and learn about. Your entries give me such wonderful insights and I'm pretty boring so I don't know why you'd want to save me... except that I'd really wish to continue reading yours. I hope you don't mind, as I'm just a random person. And if you purposely avoided nonfriends to post to your journal to avoid something like this um, I deeply apologize!! I'll understand. ^_^ Thanks!

'Sup JohnTV? What is this friendster thing and how do I get hooked up?

So things are busy for ya back in Tokyo - sounds like a good busy though. Keeps you motivated to use your spare time to do cool things like find triforce at Kamakura. BTW, I came back to check your blog out after Danny listed "Triforce Found in Japan" as one of his noooz headlines! Hadn't been here in awhile. ;-) Hope all is well!

Yo Pat. Head to www.friendster.com and sign up. Easy as that. Make a profile, upload a pic, get connected to some of your friends (like me), and bam, you're a certified friendster addict like the rest of us.

Sent you a mail re: the other stuff. Check it out when you get a chance.

Glad to hear from ya!!

-J
